Offshore geotechnical data acquisition, analysis and reporting specialist Geoquip Marine was contracted to perform a geotechnical site investigation off the coast of Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, Japan. The Poseidon-1, an integrated geotechnical survey vessel, was mobilised along with the heave compensated GMTR150 drilling rig.
A team of highly skilled and experienced offshore experts onboard the Poseidon-1 performed composite downhole PCPT and sampling boreholes, with a maximum depth of 69m below seafloor. The high-quality data collected during this 26-day operation enabled Geoquip Marine to safely deliver reliable data to its client for the future development of an offshore windfarm.
